      There is practically no absorption of nutrients from the digestive tract in the immediate postoperative period. However, immediately after relief of life-threatening conditions such as dehydration, hypovolemia, hypotension, and electrolyte disturbances on the 2-3rd day after surgery, it is necessary to establish parenteral nutrition of the patient. This primarily concerns the energy substrates administration. The parenteral nutrition volume and composition are determined individually depending on the patient's needs. After surgery (car accident), I`ve been prescribed a parenteral surgery recovery diet as compensatory nutrition. Try to find the right table for you (for example, table 5a or 9b)
